At a recent presentation for the Event Leadership Institute, Jes Gordon, owner of Jes Gordon/Proper Fun, discussed different techniques event designers can use to better understand what clients want. Gordon stressed the importance of not just listening to what clients say, but also observing what they wear and how they decorate their home or office, finding visual cues to their personal style rather than assuming what would they might like. Gordon also spoke about how she mixes seemingly incongruous styles to find unusual ideas for social and corporate events.
