At the Event Innovation Forum during the BizBash IdeaFest New York, Chad Issaq, executive vice president of business development and partnerships at Superfly Marketing Group, discussed how the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival revamped the registration process by replacing traditional tickets with R.F.I.D.-equipped bracelets, and integrated social media into the event. Some 80,000 attendees were invited to register in advance using personal information and a dedicated security code linked to their bracelets, thereby eliminating counterfeit tickets and providing a greater sense of security. Additionally, kiosks placed around the 700-acre venue allowed festivalgoers to check in on Facebook, generating nearly 1.5 million social impressions.
