Watch: An Inside Look at the Biggest Weddings Trends for 2014

BizBash brought Access Hollywood Live the latest ideas for weddings as well as corporate and nonprofit events this year.

With brides and grooms moving away from rustic-barnyard and vintage-Anthropologie-style weddings, what's the next big trend in weddings? To show Access Hollywood Live the food, invitation, decor, and activity ideas shaping ceremonies and receptions this year, BizBash partnered with SBE Events and Catering, Marc Friedland Couture Communications, Celadon & Celery Events, and L.A. Photo Party.

In catering, family-style dinners are out and artfully plated small plates are gaining in popularity. SBE Events and Catering showcased a spread of unfussy, fork-friendly bites that included micro vegetable crudité with herbed couscous, grilled flank steak with pink peppercorn sauce, grilled large shrimp and fresh oregano chimichurri, and lemon meringue piece topped with candied violets.

As a different take on traditional—and formal—calligraphy on invitations, Marc Friedland Couture Communications offers whimsical lettering created by hand to personalize pieces. That included examples of a bohemian rustic-chic-inspired hand-calligraphed invitation incorporating a large, oversize unusual die-cut shape, thick single panel, wood-grain-embossed paper and matching metallic bronze wood grain envelope; a modern, elegant piece that combines a flocked fabric envelope with an extra thick, single panel invitation and handwritten calligraphy in two colors; and an invite with a pale blue, white, and silver color scheme presented in a custom etched Lucite box personalized with the recipient's name.

To make a statement with decor, Celadon & Celery's dramatic tabletop design used an arrangement of calla lilies and phalaenopsis orchids in a tall vase set alongside crystal candelabra with black tapered candles, white hand-blown vases, and short crystal candleholders with white tapered candles. The look was complemented by Revelry Event Designers' rose gold dining table, which has a reclaimed wood tabletop and matching chairs.

And if hosts want guests to put their smartphones and other electronic devices away, but still capture memorable moments, slow-motion video booths are popping up at more and more events. L.A. Photo Party's boothless setup records moving images that guests can instantly email or upload to social media channels.
