Known for its Southern hospitality and revitalized downtown, the riverfront capital city of Montgomery is the ideal destination for groups of all sizes to book their next meeting or event. With nonstop air service from Dallas, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, the Montgomery Regional Airport is located a mere 15 minutes from downtown. In addition, Montgomery is easily accessible via Interstates 85 and 65 only about a 2.5 hours from Atlanta, 1.5 hours from Birmingham and 3.5 hours from Chattanooga. A variety of centrally located hotels in the convention district offer groups over 10,000 rooms, all within walking distance of the city’s best restaurants, nightlife and historical attractions. Montgomery’s revitalization, including the opening of EJI’s National Memorial for Peace & Justice and Legacy Museum last April, has gained attention from national press including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and CNN—to name a few. Looking to breakout of the breakout room? Downtown Montgomery offers meeting space and venues to fit every style and budget. From rooftop terraces, riverfront views and a baseball stadium, to elegant halls and magnificent ballrooms, Montgomery has a wide variety of unique spaces and outdoor places to help guests create a one of a kind event. Home to 342 rooms, 296,069 square feet of event space and 32 event rooms in the heart of downtown, the newly renovated Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa and adjacent Convention Center caters to every meeting or event need. The Embassy Suites Hotel and Montgomery Conference Center combines an upscale, full-service, all-suite hotel with stellar service and a diverse array of amenities. Located directly next to the Montgomery Area Visitor Center and Montgomery Convention Center, the Embassy Suites is only nine miles from the airport and offers complimentary airport shuttles. With 15,000 square feet of meeting space including a ballroom and breakout rooms, along with space for a special event for up to 1,000 guests in one of the hotel’s versatile meeting rooms, the Embassy Suites is popular for corporate events and meetings of every type. Also located steps away from the Montgomery Convention Center, the Doubletree by Hilton is another great option for business travelers. Surrounded by important historical sites, as well as great shopping and dining options, the Doubletree offers 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space, two casual dining options and an experienced events team to walk groups through every step of their planning process. Excellent for groups of 100 to 600 people for any type of event such as business meetings, luncheons, dinners and charity events, the Alabama Activity Center on Dexter Avenue is a favorite among guests. The specious, elegant room on the ground floor is easily accessible, with a large, airy plaza and beautiful fountain located directly outside.
