The final piece of the new SoHo hotel 60 Thompson comes into place this week, when the 100-room boutique hotel's in-house restaurant, Thom, opens. The 140-seat restaurant includes a main dining room, indoor covered terrace and an outdoor street cafe, and has a contemporary American menu with Eastern influences. The restaurant's owners include the folks behind hip spots Bond St. and Indochine, who have also been running Thom's Bar (shown at left), the hotel's second floor bar and lounge (think dark wood floor, white walls and brown leather and violet seating). --Chad Kaydo
