Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue may just about sell itself on newsstands, but why test that theory when the mag can hype the issue with a glam Valentine’s Day event at the Pacific Design Center? XA produced the “SI Oasis” party, which followed a press conference announcing cover model Beyoncé Knowles. The evening featured food prepared by Wolfgang Puck as well as an appearance by Beyoncé and other models. XA projected gobos of the mag’s and sponsors’ logos throughout the tented space, along with illuminated versions of the skin-filled pages.
