* INCOMING *
1. SUPER BOWL TIME: Brands with spots airing during Sunday's big game are touting their ads early, to make sure game-watchers tune in. USA Today:

Last-minute tickets: The New York Times: "Stubhub.com, the ticket resale site, listed about 3,000 seats on Monday, priced from a mere $2,100 in the farthest nosebleed levels, all the way up to $516,484 for a full luxury suite. How about a rental car while you're in town? Hertz has full-size sedans for $429.89 for this Saturday through Monday morning. A week later, the same rental is $102.42."

On ticket scams: Stltoday.com: "Ticket scams often are rampant for events like the Super Bowl, which is a sellout more often than not. Craigslist has thousands of Super Bowl tickets listed, but the site offers no guarantees and sellers don't have to provide identification to list tickets...Lodging scams also can be a problem for events like the Super Bowl. Scammers may lure people by advertising low prices—or they may charge a premium by claiming that the hotel is close to the ballpark when it isn't."

2. CORPORATE STADIUM SPONSORS: Adweek: "Bank of America, for one, is paying $140 million over 20 years to name the home of the Carolina Panthers. And it's little wonder. A recent study by marketing firm Performance Research found that 90 percent of fans can recall the names of companies that sponsor their local arenas, while 35 percent say it causes them to have a more favorable opinion of the brands."

3. HUMAN AIRCRAFT PROMOTION: Viral video powerhouse Thinkmodo built buzz around "Chronicle," a film from 20th Century Fox about three high school friends with superpowers. The film studio teamed up with Thinkmodo and Big Frame to create a campaign with three, custom-built aircraft in the shape of humans. Here's the video from Portfolio.com:

4. LIVINGSOCIAL BACKLASH: Washington-based daily deals company LivingSocial is already ruffling feathers with its not-yet-open live event space, 918 F Street. Soon after the company started selling a deal this week for its own painting and wine-sipping class to be held in the space, arts event company ArtJamz—which offers similar events—issued a press release accusing LivingSocial of "using their war chest to produce and activate events that will directly compete with the small businesses they made their profits from."

5. PUMA'S OLYMPICS STRATEGY: In mid-January, Puma sent 10 bloggers to use Tumblr while in Abu Dhabi to cover Mar Mostro, the company's sponsored boat in the Volvo Ocean Race. Although the company is not fully disclosing its its marketing plans for the upcoming London Olympic Games, Remi Carlioz, head of digital marketing for Puma, did indicate that the brand will employ a similar strategy. "For the Olympics, Puma won't replicate the strategy it deployed for the Volvo Ocean Race. However, Carlioz said, Puma has some ideas for applying the same philosophy, using outside partners like technology or social media platforms." Adweek:
