Steelo fashion designer Matthew Levine's two-year anniversary party and runway show at the Xchange Tuesday night combined a new line of clothes with a new line of vodka for a crowd of 200 very young (and very thirsty) partygoers. "It's a celebration," Levine said. "It's a two-year anniversary and my clothes were just voted into the top 20 brands in the world [by the World Global Style Network]. Have a drink! Hang out!"
And that is exactly what the crowd of decked-out twentysomethings did, aided by P.I.N.K. vodka, a new line of caffeine-infused vodka (no sugar, no carbs, yet still 80 proof). With three open bars, there was not a guest in sight without an always-full glass in hand. Levine worked with StatusPR event director James Chung to design his show; Levine departed from fashion show norms by using a band, Breakin' Hundred, instead of a DJ as background music. He also used his friends as models, and they mingled with the crowd while sporting his clothes before the show.
