Since Thanksgiving, the Mission Inn has displayed its holiday lights, which it calls the “Festival of Lights,” drawing 50,000 spectators. (It began in 1993 as a celebration of the Mission Inn’s $55 million renovation.) The more than two million lightbulbs will be on display until New Year’s Day. The festival also includes musical and dance acts, more than 250 animated characters, horses with authentic carriages clip-clopping around the grounds, and carolers serenading visitors.
