Gardenia Organic, a new floral shop in the West Village, offers bouquets that are environmentally conscious from the blooms down to the vases. Floral designer Hannah Ling sells individual flowers, hand-tied bouquets, and arrangements that are either U.S.D.A. organic or certified by VeriFlora, which ensures fair growing practices and sustainability. Ling also uses vases, tissue paper, and shopping bags made from recycled materials, composts her flower waste, and has staffers deliver the bouquets (throughout Manhattan) on rickshaw bikes.
