* INCOMING *

1. GOOGLE+ TOPS TRENDS LIST: Mashable lists this year's top six social media marketing trends. " 2011 will likely be remembered as a year of incremental upgrades in various social media platforms. This was not a year like 2006, in which Twitter was introduced, or 2009, when the world first got a glimpse of Foursquare. The big new launch of 2011 may be Color, a company that got '$41 million in funding for nothing,' in the words of David Berkowitz, vice president of emerging media with 360i, a digital marketing firm." Trends include augmented reality and a shakeout in the daily deals arena. Mashable:

2. EMPLOYEES WANT BONUSES: Forbes: "Employers, listen up. Your staff doesn’t want the holiday party. Cash is at the top of their wish list this year, according to a recent online survey by Harris Interactive on behalf of Glassdoor, an online jobs and career community where people share information and opinions about the places where they’re employed." We’ll say this again: This doesn’t necessarily mean cash is the better strategic choice in thanking employees.

Award nominees will be announced today. Jesse Ignjatovic, Den of Thieves; Joey Berlin, Berlin Entertainment; and Lee Rolontz, VH1 are producing. VH1.com:

4. BUSINESS TRAVEL COMPLAINTS: A poll by virtual environment provider ON24 concludes that 92 percent of the 3,756 surveyed executives are fed up with business travel. Other results: Houston topped the list of cities to avoid for a convention or trade show, Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson was ranked as the nation's worst airport, and the risk of bed bugs worries business travelers the most.
