To celebrate the release of Girls season one on Blu-ray—and to hype the second season, which begins on January 13—HBO hosted a cocktail party at Toronto's House of Moments on December 4. A so-called "Instagram hotspot," where guests were encouraged to snap photos, had a backdrop based on Central Park in New York City, where the show takes place. Darren Bigras, an event manager from LexPR, built the Big Apple-inspired area, which had lampposts, trees, shrubs, and backdrops decked with New York City architecture.

The evening's centerpiece was an on-stage Q&A with actress Allison Williams, one of the stars of the show. National Post columnist Shinan Govani led the discussion.
