The oldest touring show in Cirque du Soleil's repertoire returns to Toronto Wednesday. Saltimbanco—derived from the Italian saltare in banco, which translates to "jump on a bench"—follows an eclectic cast of characters as they explore the urban experience, drawing spectators into a fanciful, imaginary city. The show, which premiered in Montreal in 1992, features a cast of 49 performers, 15 of whom were part of the original production. Saltimbanco runs from August 13 through 17 and August 20 to 24 at the Air Canada Centre.
