Thompson Landry Gallery

E646207 13 06 Disc Gallery 1 152
Thompson Landry Gallery, open nearly a month, isn't just another picturesque space in the Distillery District. The 2,700-square-foot venue in the historic Stone Distillery building is equipped for events ranging from sit-down breakfasts for 20 to cocktail receptions for 150. The kitchen has power to operate portable ovens for modest catering jobs; for larger events, the gallery can open onto a catering tent. The gallery only shows works by Quebec artists; its 14-foot limestone walls create a distinctive backdrop for artistic creations. Thompson Landry Gallery is co-owned by Sylvain Landry, a former opera singer and conductor; his partner Joanne Thompson, a former set designer; and Gilles Charest, owner of the Gallery of Art & Style in Baie-Saint-Paul, Que. To book the venue for a morning, you'll spend a minimum of $1,500 in rental costs. Evening rates begin at $2,500.—Robyn Small
