Like its name suggests, newly opened Rockwood in Toronto's downtown club district is largely decorated in rock and wood. The rock portion of this decidedly earthy venue is still under construction, but the wood-designed area is available for functions for up to 165 standing guests. When it opens later this month, the rock space will have a similar capacity. In warm weather, another 212 people can congregate on the rooftop patio, which features glass decor. The finishings in the wood space include walnut floors, ceilings, and walls. Silkscreen photos of trees hang from the walls, surrounding the club in an imitation forest. Tables are a combination of faux wood and wood blocks, and behind-the-bar mirrors create the illusion of even more wood. . The rental rate is about $2,500 per floor. The price includes Internet access and video screens. Lavender Poodle Productions handles bookings.
