The Royal Ontario Museum has unveiled another part of its Michael Lee-Chin Crystal addition with two new third-floor spaces—the Sir Christopher Ondaatje South Asian Gallery and the Wirth Gallery of the Middle East. The Wirth Gallery, named after philanthropist Albert Wirth and curated by Krzysztof Ciuk, includes more than 1,000 Middle Eastern artifacts, including a hand-ax from the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem and a Babylonian glazed brick wall. The Ondaatje Gallery, curated by Deepali Dewan, includes nine exhibit areas featuring hand-crafted pieces, art, and historical items like a 15th-century Kalpasutra manuscript.
