Among the influx of local eateries that have opened in the last year, downtown hotspot Lucien clinched Toronto Life's pick for best new restaurant, in the magazine's April issue. Housed in Pravda Vodka Bar's former space, Lucien is run by Simon Bower with a multicultural, locally focused menu by executive chef Scot Woods (formerly of Habitat). Colborne Lane, known for chef Claudio Aprile's molecular gastronomy, and Mark McEwan's latest venture, One, took the second- and third-place spots, respectively.
