The Ferrari Club of America's (FCA) International Meet, which takes place today through Sunday, will see the 18th fairway at Eagles Nest Golf Club turned into a parking lot of sorts this week when 200 vintage, and new, Ferraris assemble on the course for the FCA Concours d'Elegance Thursday. "The main reason for wanting to do it there was to have a fantastic atmosphere and a fantastic backdrop for the cars to be displayed," Eagles Nest event manager Leanne Ruest said of the FCA's decision to showase the vehicles on the actual course.

The golf club will be closed for the day to accommodate the 650 guests expected to attend the event, which happens once every 10 years in Canada. Ruest reported that it wasn't necessary to prep the fairway, noting the "grasses that are planted in that area are substantial." However, the FCA sent a preliminary team to Eagles Nest to determine the best route for the vehicles to access the rolling fairway. "A lot of the Ferraris are low riding so they've got to make sure they can drive on and off the fairway without damaging the cars," she said, adding that the "delicate" 18th green is off limits and won't be impacted by the event. The FCA's five-day meet, which includes stops in Niagara (a lunch and tour at Vineland Estates and a high tea in Niagara-on-the-Lake) and at the Mosport International Raceway, is based on the theme of celebrating gentlemen racers. In addition to the Concours d'Elegance, the meet features a road rally, three days of racetrack activities, seminars, receptions, and a charity auction and banquet to benefit the Hospital for Sick Children.

Event sponsors include Ferrari of Ontario, Shell, Puma, RM Auctions, Reliance Home Comfort, Bridgestone, Pirelli, New Life Capital Corporation, Ferrari Maserati Quebec, Hagerty, TFX International, Ferrari North America, Targa, Louis Black, Transportaction Lease Systems, The Plan by Investors Group, and Sleeman.
