Canadian theatre notables such as Daniel MacIvor will be a part of this year's SummerWorks Theatre Festival, starting tomorrow and running through August 17 at five downtown venues. Along with 42 theatre presentations the festival operates a performance gallery at the Gladstone Hotel, where artists working in different media will curate short pieces in the hotel's rooms and hallways. A new part of this year's event is the CBC Radio3-sponsored SummerWorks Music Series, during which independent musicians like Mathew Barber and Peter Elkas are scheduled to perform at the Theatre Centre.
