On August 26, Kobo held its End-of-Summer Pool Party at Muzik Pool Bar. The event celebrated the launch of the Kobo Aura H2O, a waterproof e-reader. The 6.8-inch touch-screen device can be immersed in one meter of water for 30 minutes, allowing readers to take their books to the beach or into the bath.

To keep with the theme, Koboโ€™s PR and event team partnered with Aqualillies, a synchronized-swimming entertainment group, to stage a lively routine in the barโ€™s pool. Dressed in aqua-and-white bathing suits and caps that matched Koboโ€™s corporate colors, the Aqualillies provided a playful introduction to the waterproof product by taking the e-readers into the water with them.

A speech by Kobo president Michael Tamblyn was integrated into the performance as Tamblyn floated on a blow-up lounger in the pool. Guests including media, publishers, retailers, and authors snacked on pool-party-style hors dโ€™oeuvres from ByPeterandPauls.com. Bites included Kobe beef sliders, watermelon salad, and grilled pineapple.
