Menswear retailer Harry Rosen unveiled the Ermenegildo Zegna shop—the largest luxury boutique in the company's newly renovated Bloor Street store—with a cocktail party for clients Wednesday. ASC PR produced the Italian-themed bash, which featured a conversation between Toronto Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo and TSN's Rod Black.
"We've had an association with the Rosen group for over 30 years. We had a loose shop one level down," said Marty Grundy, managing director of Ermenegildo Zegna Canada, who noted that the company jumped at the opportunity to open its first luxury boutique in this country when Harry Rosen decided to add two floors of retail space to the location.
Grundy said the company's heritage made the choice to go with an Italian theme for the evening an obvious one. "We are truly Italian based," he said. "Bryan Colangelo is of Italian descent, and we dress Bryan...he was a perfect fit for us. We do a lot of sports-related things here." Grundy noted that many of the brand's clients are also avid sports fans. "They love this type of thing," he said.
The cocktail reception attracted some 200 guests to the third-floor boutique, where servers from Noce Restaurant passed hors d'oeuvres like gnocchi and mussels with shrimp and radicchio. Two small bars flanked either side of the boutique, with bartenders offering Campari cocktails and Michele Chilarlo wines courtesy of Lifford Wine Agency.
