5 New Venues in Toronto for Fall 2020 Meetings and Events

Toronto's newly opened event venues for hosting meetings and events this fall.

October 22, 2020

Here's a look at Toronto's new spaces open for events this fall. The new and renovated Toronto venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.

A note regarding COVID-19: At BizBash, we're still committed to bringing you ideas and inspiration for when (yes, when!) events are back up and running. Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to the pandemic, or they may be operating at a lower capacity.

Amal
Amal
The latest fine-dining experience by Ink Entertainment, this Lebanon-inspired restaurant opened its doors in the heart of Yorkville in August—with a Miami location planned for launch later this year. Co-developed with local interior designer Studio Munge, the 5,230-square-foot space incorporates Mediterranean decor—with a mix of pastel blues, mint green, and burned oranges atop a neutral white interior—as well as intricately crafted ceiling tapestries, murals, and furnishings. With a menu featuring authentic Lebanese dips, cold and hot mezze, skewers, and platters, Amal can host 155 guests inside, 62 outside, and seat as many as 24 people in a semiprivate dining room.

King & Bay Showroom
King & Bay Showroom
The financial district luxury menswear outlet launched a private lounge designed for corporate events, VIP client meetings, and social gatherings for as many as 60 guests in July. King & Bay, located on the 25th floor, offers a panoramic view of scenic downtown Toronto architecture and Lake Ontario. Booking options feature multiple 47-inch high definition screens; use of a boardroom, office, or den; photography and videography packages; and breakfast, lunch, dinner, hor d'oeuvres, and cocktail selections by Oliver & Bonacini and Tobin Food by Design—plus an exclusive menu by Chotto Matte. Customizable corporate branding options, including signage, floor banners, and digital displays, are also available per booking.

Enigma
Enigma
Located across from Yorkville’s Windsor Arms Hotel, the modern European restaurant, which opened in September, offers French-inspired afternoon tea with handcrafted pastries; an aperitif list with a mix of Canadian and international ales, wine, and spirits; and a seasonal tasting menu curated by executive chef Quinton Bennett. Combining an open-concept kitchen, royal-blue decor, finely tiled ceiling murals, and soft pendant lighting, Enigma serves small plates with a variety of locally sourced ingredients, including specially grown produce from Clearwater Farms throughout the day. Reservations with custom menu experiences can be made for as many as eight guests, and full-venue private parties can be booked.

StartWell Hybrid Event Studio
StartWell Hybrid Event Studio
Designed for the future of events without the limits of long distances, StartWell cooperative work and event spaces launched a new 2,500-square-foot space enabling live, high-definition conferencing from its King West location. StartWell Hybrid Event Studio is divided into three distinct zones, including a lounge with five brand-new couches, contemporary marble and chrome tables, and additional ottomans and armchairs. There's also an open, stainless-steel bar featuring cold storage, beer taps, a dishwasher, and seating for 20, plus a presentation stage with a state-of-the-art audiovisual booth, live, multicamera streaming capabilities, and seating for as many as 100. Catering staff, photographers, professional tech support, a professional podcast room, and additional spaces are available upon request.

The Drake Artist Loft
The Drake Artist Loft
On Oct. 1, the city’s iconic Drake Hotel unveiled a new suite conceived to accommodate touring artists stopping off in Toronto, plus members of the Drake’s Artist in Residency program. The two-level, 800-square-foot space is also open to vacationers and bookings for intimate corporate or social events, such as private album preview parties and “backstage” meet-and-greets with artists. With two private bedrooms, a communal living area, and a kitchen, The Drake Artist Loft offers contemporary high ceilings, an in-room safe, a 50-inch flat-screen TV, keyless check-in, and an optional additional joining room. As many as eight guests can stay in the main suite.
