He’s also the co-founder of Lavan 541, an event space that opened in New York in 2019, and Event Box, an e-commerce marketplace launched in 2020 that gives planners access to source and book specialty and hard-to-find products and services from pre-vetted vendors for all types of events. David got his start in the event industry as a touring nightclub DJ and corporate emcee.

Here are his favorite places to host events around the country.

To Produce a Product Launch
Two years ago I was fortunate to launch my own event space, Lavan 541 in New York, where I was able to build my dream venue. All those hours of sketches and planning paid off. The most success we’ve seen is with product demos and influencer dinners, and I couldn’t be happier seeing how the space has become a go-to source for global brands.

To Work from a Hotel Lobby
1 Hotel West Hollywood. It's like the most comfortable living room in the heart of a vibey, high-energy lobby. You can keep your head down in every cozy nook, or take advantage of the great sight lines for people watching. And accessing a bourbon from the Juniper bar couldn't be easier.1 Hotel West Hollywood1 Hotel West HollywoodPhoto: Courtesy of 1 Hotels

To Take the Team Out to Dinner
Sake Rok Las Vegas. The best of times, where everyone lets their guard down. The high-energy live dinner emcee training diners on how to perfect their sake bombs, along with coordinated dance routines with the entire waitstaff, is amazing. And yes, what happens at Sake Rok…

To Host a Dinner for Clients
Unless my client has a specific request or one of my team members makes the case for a local spot, my mainstay is Tao. Wherever there is a Tao, I know I can completely trust its hospitality and its kitchen for a great night. And texting my Tao concierge always guarantees a great table!Tao HollywoodTao HollywoodPhoto: Courtesy of Tao Group

To Get Lost
At Brooklyn Museum, I truly lose track of time and I enjoy myself so much I literally get lost in the museum. From Keith Haring to Kaws, their exhibitions have never disappointed—and it’s a phenomenal space for events.

To Throw an Intimate Event With a Million-Dollar View
Whether it’s a dinner party for 50 or a holiday celebration for 150, Ascent Lounge in New York’s characteristics include cozy lounge sections for all kinds of conversations, stellar interior lighting, crafty mixologists and delectable bites, and a dance floor where, when you’re gawking over the Central Parks views, you completely lose yourself in the moment.Ascent Lounge in New YorkAscent LoungePhoto: Courtesy of City Nights Hospitality

To Escape
With the amount of travel I do for work, the thing I want to do most when I need to recharge is take my wife and three young kids to the Wymara Resort & Villas or Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos and just sit on a beach and throw in a few outdoor activities during the day. The locals are the most welcoming and warm people who ensure you feel right at home.

To Have a Party
I know LIV Nightclub at the Fontainebleau Miami blows the roof off because when I see my staff and our clients the following morning, everyone is just in a gigglefest. It’s the insane technology that LIV has built in that really makes an impression and enhances the multisensory experience, along with incredible headline talent. My team simultaneously watches the crowd while geeking out about the space’s mega investments in special FX.LIV Nightclub at the Fontainebleau Miami BeachLIV Nightclub at the Fontainebleau Miami BeachPhoto: Simon Hare
