Here's a look at new Atlanta eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this spring. The new and renovated Atlanta venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fund-raisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, teambuilding activities, conferences, meetings, and more.

Moxy Atlanta Midtown debuted alongside AC Hotel Atlanta Midtown in January. The 155-room, LEED-certified property was developed by Noble Investment Group, and features a variety of eclectic local artwork—which includes “Welcome Home,” a 54-foot mural by artist Greg Mike. In addition to 300-seat rooftop High Note, the hotel has six meeting and event spaces, including a 100-seat lounge and two meeting rooms that can be combined to hold 100 guests for receptions.

Kimpton Overland Hotel opened in January. The luxury boutique hotel is located adjacent to the Porsche Cars North America Atlanta campus, and just north of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The 214-room property features Apron, a Mediterranean restaurant that seats 102 in a main dining room and 30 on an outdoor deck. The property also is home to Overdrive Lounge, an open-air rooftop space with views of the Porsche Experience Center test track. Additionally, the hotel has 6,064-square-feet of event space, including a ballroom that holds 300 for receptions or 400 theater style.

Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center at City Springs opened at the end of summer 2018. The new performing arts venue features two theaters. The Byers Theatre, the primary performance space, seating 1,070 guests on three levels. The second theater is the Studio Theatre, which offers 5,000 square feet of space available for small performances, corporate meetings, or banquet-style events. Studio Theatre can hold 350 guests seated for events, and offers technologies including a full lighting grid and a sprung floor. The theater also has a 2,730-square-foot lobby that serves as a pre-function space, which includes a an 11- by 20-foot video wall. The performing arts center complements the existing event space at City Springs, which includes a conference center with multiple meeting rooms and a rooftop terrace.

Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead opened in December. Formerly the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta, the 42-story property has 127 rooms and 10 suites. The property also has a 15,000-square-foot spa with 14 private treatment rooms, two couples suites, and a 60-foot climate-controlled indoor pool that overlooks a garden. For meetings and events, the hotel has a number of spaces including a ballroom that holds 250 for receptions; a private garden that holds 250 for receptions; and multiple meeting rooms, the largest of which holds 200 for receptions.

Canopy by Hilton Atlanta Midtown opened in December. The first Canopy hotel in Georgia features 176 guest rooms and a vibrant interior design helmed by designers of Krause Sawyer and three local commissioned artists. As an in-house dining option, the hotel has Xhibit Studio Kitchen & Bar, which serves Southern cuisine such as shrimp and grits and buttermilk pie. For meetings and events, the property has three meeting rooms, one of which seats 12 guests in a conference setup, while the other two can be combined to hold as many as 80 for receptions. The hotel also has an outdoor terrace available for social events.

Steady Hand Beer Co. had a soft opening in February and a grand opening party in early March. The 14,000-square-foot brewery, located on Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard in Westside, is owned by brothers Brian and Kevin Sullivan and has a 30-barrel brewhouse. The taproom, which has 24 taps, holds as many as 250 guests for receptions and is available for full buyouts. For smaller events, the venue has a semiprivate lounge space that holds around 35 guests with audiovisual capabilities, along with a game area that holds as many as 75 people. The venue offers a variety of seating configurations and beverage packages.

AC Hotel Atlanta Midtown, located in a dual-brand Marriott development Moxy Atlanta Midtown hotel, opened in January. The hotel offers 133 rooms and, with Moxy, shares High Note, a rooftop space with a pool, cabanas, and a bar, that seats as many as 300 people. For other meetings and events, the hotel has eight spaces; the two largest rooms can be combined to seat as many as 100 guests theater style.

The St. Regis Atlanta completed a property-wide renovation in January, coinciding with the hotel’s 10th anniversary. The renovation includes revamps of the hotel’s 151 guest rooms and the expansion of the St. Regis Bar. Atlas, the hotel’s American-European restaurant led by executive chef Christopher Grossman, unveiled a new 3,070-square-foot terrace with 100 seats and 24 dedicated bar seats. The hotel also debuted Maisonette, a three-story venue with meeting and event spaces that include a gallery and a pavilion, as well as the Maisonette Chef’s Kitchen. Overall, the hotel has more than 24,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom that holds as many as 1,235 people for receptions.

Lazy Betty, a tasting menu-focused restaurant, opened in the former Radial Cafe space in Candler Park in February. The restaurant is helmed by chef Ronald Hsu (featured in Netflix’s The Final Table), his siblings Howard and Anita Hsu, and chef Aaron Phillips, and specializes in dishes that meld French and Chinese-Malaysian influences. Diners have the option of ordering from two tasting menus and a small a la carte menu. The restaurant, which is available for private events in its dining room and lounge, seats 46 guests and can hold as many as 80 for receptions.

French restaurant Aix and its neighboring wine bar Tin Tin opened in Westside in December. Helmed by Nick Leahy, former executive chef of Saltyard, the restaurant serves dishes inspired by the southern French city of Aix-en-Provence. Aix seats 93 guests in a main dining room, 12 at a bar, and 10 in a wine room. Tin Tin, which serves small plates and by-the-glass wines and carafes, seats 10 people at a bar, 10 at a lounge area surrounding the bar, and 25 on an indoor-outdoor patio.
