New Hires for Saks, Nationals Ballpark, 3 Dog, and AATB

The Washington Nationals, in anticipation of the April opening of the new Nationals Ballpark, have brought on Heather Westrom as director of ballpark enterprises. Previously senior operations manager at destination management company GEP Washington, Westrom is now overseeing and developing the stadium's private event and public tour business.

"Examples of what we’re trying to do are best studied in the Fenway Sports Group in Boston, or Giants Enterprises in San Francisco," Westrom says, adding that over the next year she'll be looking "for ways to increase our brand power in the marketplace."In other news, 3 Dog Communications recently named Rachel Cothran as vice president. Also known for her D.C. blog Project Beltway, Cothran previously worked as special events coordinator for the Washington chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Elizabeth Stratman, previously the marketing and public relations director for apparel company Nieves Lavi in New York, is now the new director of public relations and special events at Saks Fifth Avenue Chevy Chase.

And Rebecca Hunter left her position as event coordinator at the American Red Cross's external events office, where she worked for more than two years, to become director of communications and meetings for the American Association of Tissue Banks. In addition to planning training workshops, she'll be working on events related to the A.A.T.B.'s annual spring and fall conferences.
