Joining hip dining-and-drinking spots Drink and Sportello in the rapidly developing Fort Point Channel neighborhood, Barlow’s Restaurant opened inside a renovated mill on a formerly desolate stretch of A Street in December.

The casual eatery has preserved many of the building’s original details—red brick walls, wooden beams, exposed piping—while adding hardwood floors, booths, banquettes, and large tables. In the middle of the room, 30 seats are set around a five-sided blond wood bar.

Barlow’s serves a menu of rich comfort food like bacon wrapped meatloaf and fig-prosciutto pizza, along with craft beers on tap and warming winter drinks like a raspberry truffle hot chocolate with Chambord.

The main dining room, which seats 60 people, is available for private events. A lower-level function room is still in the works for later this year.
