Where to go in Rhode Island

1. In July, the 13-suite Stone House hotel and spa opened in an 1854 granite building in Little Compton. Groups of as many as 12 can book the inn for a corporate retreat package that includes meals at its two restaurants—one of which has a private room with Wi-Fi, speakerphones, and audiovisual setup.

2. Newport private marina 41˚ North opened in 2007 and began offering day access to diners in 2009. The 9,000-square-foot harborside restaurant holds 400, and two rooms with decks hold 150 each. There are also four guest suites, and a 24-room hotel is slated to open this year.
