What happens in Vegas may not be available anywhere else. Try one of these three activities to give out-of-town clients or groups an experience unlike anything they're likely to find at home.
1. In April, the Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel & Casino opened its newest attraction, SkyJump Las Vegas, breaking the Guinness World Record for highest commercial decelerator descent. The SkyJump perches 855 feet above the Vegas Strip, breaking the previous record set by SkyJump at Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre in Macao. Riders suit up in Stratosphere’s custom jumpsuits, connect to a high-speed descender machine, and then leap off the platform—in the manner of skydiving or base jumping—to descend 829 feet to the landing pad below. SkyJump Las Vegas costs $99.99 per person. Group rates and packages are available, and the experience may be booked with room packages.
2. The new Reliquary Water Sanctuary & Spa opened in January at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where ongoing renovation and expansion plans have created an array of new offerings. Treat a V.I.P. to the spa's signature ancient cane ritual massage, which uses raw sugar cane juice combined with crystals and oil to exfoliate and moisturize. The massage continues with the use of bamboo reeds instead of hands for drumming, tapping, and rolling. The 80-minute treatment runs $225.
3. Off-road adventure tour company Wide Open's new Nevada operation take groups from Las Vegas into the historic sites left over from the Gold Rush of the Old West, including saloons, abandoned mines, and ghost towns in the desert. Along the way, drivers navigate pinyon groves, steep mountain passes, sand washes, and deep dunes for an intense experience. Guides can design routes and activities to match the goals of a corporate group, and trips may be fully customized up to seven days in length for the truly adventurous—or for those with the rare luxury of time.
