10 New Las Vegas Bars and Clubs for Events

Alesandra Dubin
August 1, 2011

These new bars, lounges, and nightclubs in Las Vegas have indoor, outdoor, private, and semiprivate spaces that can accommodate groups small and large for events, meetings, product launches, holiday parties, presentations, and other types of entertaining.

1. The Chandelier bar at the Cosmopolitan is a multistory visual spectacle housing three bar experiences amid two million beaded crystals, conceived and designed by the Rockwell Group. The bottom level holds 150 guests, the inside 200, and the top 200, for a total of 550 in all. The space comprises 10,000 square feet in the casino, and a spiral staircase connects the levels.

2. The buzzy Chateau Nightclub & Gardens opened in March at Paris Las Vegas. The nightclub and outdoor Parisian gardens, with sweeping views of the Las Vegas Strip, cover two stories, offering three separate nightlife experiences. In all, the giant space has about 15,000 square feet in the nightclub, 10,000 on the Chateau Terrace, and 20,000 in the Chateau Gardens. The entire space is available for buyout, and once the rooftop is open (slated for Labor Day weekend), the venue hopes to accommodate 2,500 guests.

3. Between Sugar Factory American Brasserie and the stairway to Chateau Nightclub is the Chocolate Lounge at Paris Las Vegas, which serves chocolate in all forms, accompanied by wine, champagne, and liquor pairings. Tastings range from $28 to $1,000. There is bar seating for 22 and banquette seating for 16. There is a sushi-bar-style chocolate bar and fondue service.

4. Gallery Nightclub is now open at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and is available for full buyout with a capacity of 2,300. The main room has a sprawling dance floor, two bars, and an elevated DJ booth. There are connecting dance platforms behind the club’s many V.I.P. booths to encourage interaction throughout the room. Oversize frames adorn the walls, showcasing original photography depicting voyeuristic imagery. Designed by Amy Kim of AK DesignNetwork (whose design credits include collaboration with Philippe Starck on the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills), the 20,000-square-foot space merges vintage Gothic design with modern touches.

5. Club Nikki has opened as part of Nikki Beach Las Vegas at Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel Resort & Casino, part of a $180 million transformation at the Tropicana property. It's the largest Nikki Beach property in the world. Club Nikki at Tropicana Las Vegas is a new 15,000-square-foot club with an all-white color scheme, lounge area, and dance floor. Overall, Nikki Beach at Tropicana Las Vegas includes three elements: Nikki Beach Club, Club Nikki, and Café Nikki.

6. Book & Stage at the Cosmopolitan is a place to bet on live sporting events from around the world by day. At night, the stage above the bar features musicians playing intimate shows, adding to the excitement of the book experience. The venue serves a mix of craft-made bottled beer and simple, classic cocktails.

7. Marquee nightclub and dayclub at the Cosmopolitan comes from the Tao Group, with design by the Rockwell Group. The club consists of seven bars set among three luxe rooms, which offer a variety of musical experiences. Design elements range from chandeliers made from bike chains and sprockets in the Boom Box Room to modern Renaissance-style murals on the ceiling of the women’s lounge. The main room has a 40-foot LED video wall and projection stage with a custom DJ booth, surrounded by plush coliseum-style banquette seating and two dance floors.

8. In December, Steve Wynn and restaurant impresario Michael Morton opened La Cave Wine & Food Hideaway, inside Wynn Las Vegas. There's a small-plates menu, and global wines were selected by Wynn Resorts executive wine director Danielle Price and La Cave wine director Rober Wright. The garden lounge recalls an oversized living room with mix-and-match custom-made chairs and tables.

9. Although it has garnered its share of hype and hope, Las Vegas’s 18-block downtown arts district has historically offered little in the way of full-service venues where organizations and events can tap into the vibe and sensibilities of the fledgling area. Husband and wife photographer Wesley Isbutt and graphic designer Debra Heiser added the bar to their Bar & Bistro @ the Arts Factory, a 32,000-square-foot, 17-gallery structure at Casino Center and Charleston boulevards near Interstate 215. The 1,600-square-foot, 45-seat bar joins the 2,200-square-foot, 85-seat bistro offering light, locally sourced fare.

10. Opened last year, the Crown Theater and Nightclub inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino has a twofold focus of live music and nightlife. The 11,000-square-foot venue has a 50-foot stage and top-end sound and lighting systems. Despite the venue's substantial size, the feel is meant to be intimate. The venue is available for buyout, with a capacity of 999 for standing-room-only events. For entertaining special clients or groups, seating is available in 41 V.I.P. booths.
