November 12, 2021

Here's a closer look at Los Angeles's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms and other spaces available for events this fall. The new and renovated Los Angeles venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings and more.

A note regarding COVID-19: Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to COVID-19, or they may be operating at a lower capacity. As venues begin to slowly reopen across North America, we encourage event organizers to contact the venues to verify current capacity restrictions.

Academy Museum of Motion Pictures
Academy Museum of Motion Pictures
After a series of COVID-19-related delays, the highly anticipated Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opened in late September. Dedicated to the art and science of movies, the seven-story, 300,000-square-foot property—located in the former Saban Building on Wilshire Boulevard—features exhibition spaces, the 288-seat Ted Mann Theater, and several studios and event spaces. Connected by glass bridges is the spherical-shaped 1,000-seat David Geffen Theater and the rooftop Dolby Family Terrace with views of the Hollywood Hills. There’s also a 10,000-square-foot restaurant, Fanny’s, from restaurateurs Bill Chait and Carl Schuster that has an open kitchen and a design from Commune Design. Wolfgang Puck Catering oversees catering for the rest of the museum.

The luxury hotel has a 4,500-square-foot restaurant on the ground floor, along with Bar Lis (pictured), a 10,000-square-foot rooftop comprising an interior lounge, a pool area and an outdoor bar with a retractable roof. The hotel has a full event staff and audiovisual specialist. It can also coordinate events and meetings at the Citizen-News Building next door, which offers 15,000 square feet of traditional event space.

Belles Beach House
Belles Beach House
Nicholas Mathers and the Wish You Were Here Group opened a Belles Beach House in October, a fun new restaurant that blends surf culture, Hawaiian cuisine, 1970s-style retro decor and the Venice boardwalk in a bamboo-filled tropical paradise. The space, designed by Tara Bean, mixes lounge furniture and high tops with oversized palm trees, vintage Hawaiian upholstery and retro surfboards; there’s even an oversized, hand-carved tiki statue greeting guests at the door. Another memorable decor touch? Vintage prints, which were discovered on an unprocessed roll of film from over 70 years ago. The menu offers a full sushi program and Hawaii-inspired menu, along with a tiki cocktail program. The Venice Beach restaurant can be rented for private events.

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Los Angeles/Sherman Oaks
In August, the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Los Angeles/Sherman Oaks debuted an extensive redesign from Studio HBA. The 96-room hotel, which tends to attract entertainment-business groups due to its proximity to the studios in Hollywood and Burbank, has 1,400 square feet of event space, including a large meeting room that opens to an exterior patio that can be used for business or social gatherings. There’s also a business center and various dining areas. The new design was inspired by Southern California culture, with nods to the movie business as well as the area’s bygone citrus groves. In the meeting-friendly lobby (pictured) is a patchwork of wood planks and finishes reminiscent of citrus crates, along with a 12-foot preserved orange tree.
