Here's a closer look at Los Angeles's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms and other spaces available for events this summer. The new and renovated Los Angeles venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings and more.
A note regarding COVID-19: Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to COVID-19, or they may be operating at a lower capacity. As venues begin to slowly reopen across North America, we encourage event organizers to contact the venues to verify current capacity restrictions.
YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park
Hollywood Park, Los Angeles’s new 300-acre sports and entertainment destination, has unveiled plans for its 6,000-seat performance venue—YouTube Theater—slated to open this summer. Through a multiyear partnership with Live Nation, the state-of-the-art theater will host everything from concerts and award shows to esports competitions and conferences. The 227,000-square-foot space is located under the same roof canopy as SoFi Stadium and American Airlines Plaza; it’s three stories, with highlights including a two-story Kaynemaile chandelier, six luxury boxes, a 1,200-square-foot back-of-house hospitality space, a 3,500-square-foot private club with 140 premium seats and a 6,100-square-foot stage.

Downtown L.A. Proper Hotel
Opening this month is the Downtown L.A. Proper Hotel, a new 148-room venue housed in a 1920s California Renaissance Revival landmark, with a refreshed design from Kelly Wearstler that brings in Spanish, Portuguese, Mexican and Moroccan influences. (Fun fact: There are more than 100 different kinds of tile throughout the property, from hand-painted to vintage to custom-commissioned.) The hotel has more than 14,000 square feet of event space along with a team of on-site planners and specialists; highlights include VIP suites with unique features like a vintage basketball court and an indoor swimming pool, plus a 2,608-square-foot banquet hall, a 5,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor rooftop space, and two restaurants led by James Beard Award-winning chef Suzanne Goin and restaurateur Caroline Styne.

Bamboo Room
Bamboo Room, a craft cocktail lounge in Westlake Village, opened in mid June. Owned by Anthony Alaimo and Jeffrey S. Helfer, the stylish lounge and event space is inspired by the pair’s experiences abroad, with a mix of both contemporary and vintage elements across its indoor lounge and outdoor patio space. The space holds 200 for private events and can accommodate dance floors, live bands, DJs, photo booths and other customized event elements. An added bonus? The Bamboo Room team can coordinate a mobile bar that brings the event to you, complete with a full liquor bar and bartending services; full catering and servers from the venue’s sister restaurant, 101 North Eatery & Bar, can also be added.

Le MĂ©ridien Pasadena Arcadia Hotel
Le Méridien Pasadena Arcadia Hotel opened near Santa Anita Park in June. The new-build hotel has 234 rooms and suites, as well as 14,000 square feet of event space that draws design inspiration from the race track with a sophisticated equestrian-inspired design. On-site highlights include the Asian-European restaurant Mélange (pictured), plus the Longitude 118 bar. Event space is divided across five rooms, including private dining rooms, more than 1,800 square feet of indoor prefunction space and an expansive outdoor lawn. Hotel guests and groups can also get behind-the-scenes tours of Santa Anita Park through Le Méridien’s Unlock Art program.

Westin Anaheim Resort
The Westin Anaheim Resort opened in early June adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center. The 618-room hotel, Westin’s first new build in Southern California in more than 25 years, has 47,542 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space spread across 23 rooms, including the 16,120-square-foot Anabella Ballroom. There are also seven distinct restaurants, a heated outdoor pool with five private cabanas and a 2,000-square-foot presidential suite. The property’s design is inspired by the eight greenery-filled acres it sits on, evoking Anaheim’s orange grove roots with orange trees, warm and neutral tones, pops of gold accents and serene artwork.

A.O.C. Brentwood
A Brentwood outpost of LA’s famed A.O.C. restaurant from Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne opened in June. A.O.C. Brentwood features a small-plates format, with a regularly changing menu inspired by California’s seasons as well as local farmers’ markets. Similarly, the drink list highlights small-production wines and local beer producers. The eatery features a design from Nickey Kehoe, who crafted three interior dining spaces: a main room with velvet booths, a communal table and a charcoal wood back bar; a second room with green hues; and an intimate private dining room that holds 40 people.

Mar Monte Hotel
Looking for a nearby retreat from the city? Santa Barbara’s Mar Monte Hotel has completed the final phase of its multimillion-dollar renovation, opening its signature restaurant Costa Kitchen & Bar (pictured) in June. The hotel, formerly known as the Vista Mar Monte and built in the 1930s, now features modern amenities across three acres of Spanish-style grounds, including 200 guest rooms, two restaurants, a pool with oceanfront views and more. The hotel also features 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including two ballrooms and an event lawn; overall, the property can accommodate as many as 220 guests for events.

Cara Hotel
The Cara Hotel—named after the Gaelic word for “friend," which gives you a glimpse into its approach to hospitality—is a 60-room property in Los Feliz that opened in February and is available for small private events. The airy and intimate space took over an old 1950s-era motel, updating it with a light color scheme, a calming reflecting pool, a courtyard filled with palm trees and 100-year-old olive trees, and minimalist guest rooms. The hotel draws inspiration from its location, with pictures of Los Feliz taken by local photographers, produce sourced from a local biodynamic farm, pottery and paintings from local artists, and other custom details.

The Henry
West Hollywood eatery The Henry reopened in June after updates to its interior and exterior spaces, as well as with a fully refreshed food and cocktail menu. The modern-industrial venue has a Gatsby-era vibe, with several spaces for private events including a main dining room that seats 25 at banquet tables and 35 in booths and rounds. A cocktail lounge (pictured) seats 18 or holds 25 for receptions and has audiovisual capabilities. For outdoor gatherings, the Robertson Patio seats 35 or holds 40 for receptions, while the larger Henry Terrace seats 85 or holds 100 for receptions.

Godfrey Hotel Hollywood
The 220-room Godfrey Hotel Hollywood is slated to open this summer as the West Coast debut of Oxford Hotels & Restaurants. The new-build hotel was designed in partnership with interior designer The Gettys Group and architect Steinberg Hart, with art curation by Kevin Barry Fine Art. It features an art-deco aesthetic inspired by Old Hollywood mixed with contemporary art and modern tech amenities, including a 70-foot-tall projection mapping screen in the courtyard. There are various communal spaces, including four on-site bars, a signature restaurant, an alfresco courtyard, and i/O, the rooftop and pool lounge being billed as the largest rooftop space in Hollywood.
