Hospitality Development Group Inc., based in Fort Lauderdale, plans to develop Palazzo del Lago, an $800 million luxury destination resort in Central Florida, which will become the first official hotel of the Orange County Convention Center. It will also include the InterContinental Resort & Residences Orlando, which will be the largest InterContinental hotel worldwide, with 1,260 luxury hotel units (585 of those will be sold as hotel condominium units). The resort will also include the Villas at Palazzo del Lago, a 994-unit resort residential condominium development with five separate 18-story towers. Construction is set to begin by late 2006 on the first residential tower and on the InterContinental.
