Gina Rogak is the new director of special events at the Whitney Museum of American Art, replacing Kimberly Goldsteen. Rogak was the director of special events at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum from 1997 to 2005, where she organized openings for major exhibitions including The Art of the Motorcycle and the Giorgio Armani retrospective. In 2006, she started Rogak Consulting LLC, providing development, sponsorship, marketing, promotions, and public relations services to arts organizations and corporate clients.

Among the events she is working on in her new position are the museum's fall gala honoring artist Chuck Close on October 22, a Whitney Contemporaries event with sponsor David Yurman during Art Basel Miami Beach in December, events surrounding the 2008 Biennial exhibition, and the spring Art Party benefit.
