Eventstar Expands Operations

After three years of planning, Eventstar-the Miami-based tenting company known for its over-the-top temporary structures-is expanding to Orlando. The company has taken over the tenting and property assets of Signature Special Event Services, which will be moving the remainder of its stock to another Orlando location.

"They have retained their power-and-air division, and we will continue to work with them in that way in the future," said Eventstar president Alain Perez.

The new four-acre facility, expected to be 100 percent operational by December, will be a fully functioning extension of the Miami location.

"By having a presence there, we're going to be able to do a lot more events that we probably wouldn't do if we didn't have the facility," Perez said.

With numerous projects in the works through early next year-Art Basel 2008, in particular-the company is also in talks about opening yet another location in the northeast.
