ArtNexus, the leading art magazine and online art source for the Americas, hosted its official Art Basel V.I.P. party December 7 at the future site of Island Gardens on Watson Island. Enjoyed by the Art Basel elite, the event took place in a tent constructed and designed by Karla Conceptual Event Experiences. Inside, Karla lit the space with ice-blue ambient lighting to complement the white couches and other furniture provided by Kartell Home Furnishings. In the center of the tent was an open, oval-shaped bar serving spirits provided by Champagne Perrier Jouët, Rain vodka, and Mahou beer, among others. The hors d'oeuvres, provided by Thierry's Catering, included ceviche, mini steak burgers, and Chinese dishes such as chicken lo mein and dumplings. DJ Shlomi entertained guests, along with a special performance by Gloria Estefan's band, Los Gaitanes. All PR for the event was handled by Harrison & Shriftman.
