Cupcakes and coffee can work together as end-of-the-night treats or afternoon pick-me-ups during a long meeting. So here are three cupcake providers that each have a spin on the ubiquitous mini desserts, from special flavors, sizes, and baking or decorating activities, to additional treats like personal-size pies and cookies. And to wash down baked goods, these three coffee caterers can serve their special brews as the perfect accompaniment.
For Baked Goods
1. The Cupcake Chef in Palm Beach County offers all-organic, low-fat and sugar- and gluten-free cupcakes in nine flavors such as red velvet, espresso chocolate, and key lime blueberry. Miniature cupcakes cost $18 per order, and regular size cupcakes are $36 per 14-item order. Brownie and cupcake baking and decorating classes are also available, and suit groups with 12 to 14 guests; the cost is $35 per person for decorating parties, and $45 per person for baking and decorating. Delivery is free in Boca Raton and Delray Beach, and $2 to other locations from Palm Beach County to Miami-Dade County.
2. SweetCakes Edibles has expanded its menu of dessert options—liquor-infused and regular cupcakes and cookies—to include mini versions of its pies. The new four-and-a-half-inch pies are available in four fruit and three cream-filled flavors. Prices start at $4.50 each. Mini bundt cakes are also available starting at $4.50 each and can be individually wrapped for an additional fee. Delivery is available from the Keys to Palm Beach County; fees begin at $8 per order and vary depending on distance.
3. Danielle Glirten of the Cupcake Diva specializes in custom cupcakes using ingredients like Madagascar vanilla beans and French chocolate. Prices start at $2.25 per frosted, standard-size cupcake; additional decorations and details—like custom fondant toppers—range from 25 cents to $1 each. Mini cupcakes start at $1 each. A build-your-own-cupcake station is also an option, with various flavors of made cakes, icings, and toppings; rates start at $250 for two hours. Delivery costs $15 and is primarily within Miami-Dade County, though Broward and Palm Beach counties can be serviced for large orders.
For Coffee
1. The Coffee Brake truck can park its full-service operation outside your next event. The mobile coffee shop serves fresh-brewed hot and cold coffee drinks as well as fruit smoothies. Event packages start at $250 to serve 100 people, with a minimum booking time of 90 minutes, and each guest's drink includes a biscotti.
2. Café Ala Carte provides portable coffee carts and espresso machines, along with a barista to create guests’ beverages. The company has 18 coffee drinks and an assortment of teas available, and all beans are ground fresh on site. Prices start at $500 with a two-hour minimum.
3. With locations in Miami and Orlando, Aroma Espresso and Cappuccino Bar’s coffee carts serve 15 types of coffee drinks, with six syrup flavors that can be added to each, as well as assorted hot teas. The carts rent for $400 per two hours. Chocolate fountains, biscotti, and freshly baked pastries can also be provided for an additional fee per person.
