English restaurant the Ivy at the Grove opened in late November. Housed in the former home of Christabelleβs Quarter in Coconut Grove, the restaurant has three floors, each of which can be rented for private events.
Owners Tim Powers, who also owns the Ivy in London, and financier William Gerhauser updated the decor by removing window treatments throughout the three floors to allow more light into the space and opening up the first floor doors to allow for sidewalk dining.
On the main floor, an expansive bar seats 200 or can host as many as 400 for receptions in the bar and atrium space. Just up the grand staircase, the semiprivate second floor has seating for 150 and French doors leading to a small outdoor terrace. This level can accommodate as many as 300 for receptions.
The top floor of the restaurant is currently open to the public, though it will soon be the Raffles Private Membership club, an affiliate of Londonβs Raffles Chelsea Club, known for its high-profile members. The space has its own bar, a partially covered terrace, and can be booked for private receptions for as many as 500.
The menu is a mix of American cuisine and classic English comfort foods like bangers and mash and roast beef with Yorkshire pudding.
