“We invite you to an invite-only event because we consider you our V.I.P. We wanted to create an atmosphere where no one felt like they were left out. Everyone could participate in the party and go everywhere they wanted,” Amaris Jones said.
Plum Miami published its first issue in March. The Friday night cocktail party was the magazine’s official launch, timed with the release of the April issue. Poster-size reprints of the cover were displayed around the party.
While guests sipped signature “Plum punch” cocktails provided by sponsor Grey Goose, more than two dozen entertainers strolled around the pool deck, some wearing nothing more than body paint in shades of plum. Organizers covered half of the pool with a clear Plexiglas dance floor and left the remainder open for an acrobat who floated around in a large clear ball. DJ Irie and DJ Freestyle worked from atop the pool's diving board, while behind them a large screen showed videos of the making of the April issue and sponsor videos.
Luxury car dealer the Collection displayed four of its newest vehicles around the pool including an Audi A7 and an Aston Martin. The party ended with a fireworks show synchronized to music. When guests picked up their cars from the valet, the April edition of the magazine was inside the vehicle.
