We hear some good news for members of the International Special Events Society (ISES). Last week the Convention Industry Council (CIC) sent a letter to Bob Sivek, ISES' president, informing him that the CIC's board has recommended admitting ISES into the council, a group of 26 travel, meeting and convention organizations, at CIC's big delegate conference later this year. "We are extremely excited as an organization," Sivek told us. "Their acceptance [of ISES] in December would indicate a major step for the special events industry when it comes to being recognized in the hospitality industry."
