Election Night: Parties You Can't Plan

Talk about a stressful event. How do you plan a party when guests could end up either celebrating a win or sipping tears and tonic all night? Some people seem to be putting it off: November 7 is less than a month a way, but neither New York Senate candidate has booked a venue for election night. Rick Lazio is still looking at Midtown spots. Hillary is holding several venues, including the Grand Hyatt New York, and you can expect the party girl to bounce between fetes. One likely stop: Page Six reports that Michael Bloomberg, Tina Brown and Harvey Weinstein will host the usual suspects at Elaine's. The state Republican party will be at the Roosevelt Hotel (named for GOPer Teddy, not Dem FDR). But the frontrunner for the most fun event might be Comedy Central's bash at Roseland Ballroom, with food by Matthew Kenney Catering.

Our advice: The big races look close, so plan the bar supplies accordingly. It could be a long night.
