A group of top New York designers has booked the main floor at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue and 26th Street for fashion week, Fashion Wire Daily reports. Bureau Betak, the show production company for designers Katayone Adeli, John Bartlett, Donna Karan and Michael Kors, has booked the armory (which holds as many as 2,500 people and runs about $9,000 to $10,000 a day) from September 8 through 14. The development comes while fashionistas are looking for event space: While the New York shows usually run in mid-September, this year's shows have been scheduled much earlier to avoid conflicting with Jewish holidays Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The change has caused problems with Bryant Park (where the show producer 7th on Sixth has held the shows for years), whose management doesn't want to close the public park for the shows so close to Labor Day.
