According to New York magazine, former Ian Schrager protege Rande Gerber will shut down his Whiskey Bar at the Paramount Hotel and move it to the new W New York - Times Square in December. When Gerber and Schrager recently parted ways, the Gerber bars in the Morgans and Mondrian hotels were bought out by Schrager for $1 million. As for the soon-to-be-vacant Paramount, Schrager is planning to "connect the watering hole to the Philippe Starck-designed supper club...in the same space that once housed the Diamond Horseshoe, the legendary forties nightspot owned by showman Billy Rose," according to the mag.
