Loud Fashion Show Gets Bashed

While event planners are working to figure out an appropriate tone for their bashes (Politely somber? Following Giuliani's advice, back to normal?), here's an example of an attempt that may have missed. Under the headline "The sound and my fury--too much too soon," The New York Post's Nightcrawler columnist Jared Paul Stern bashed Christina Perrin's recent fashion show at the Roxy, claiming "it just felt wrong." His chief complaint: The show opened with a Marilyn Manson song played "at ear-splitting volume," and "it seemed a little too soon for an aural assault of that kind."
