New Yorkers may be out and about again, but they're not staying out late, according to Crain's New York Business. A number of clubs and restaurants that used to be packed late at night report that they now empty out around 9:30. Blame aging baby boomers (who dominate the population) and youngsters now worried more about keeping their jobs than getting to the latest hotspot. Restaurateurs, entertainment bookers and club owners are working to adapt to the change (or to woo customers in at later times), and event planners might do well to pay attention to the shift, too. (Although we've also been hearing from at least one high-end planner that her guests are staying at work later, so it's harder for them to make a 6 PM cocktail party.)
