Security Reminders

In a recent newsletter from Event & Meeting Security Services, a Tennessee-based event security consulting firm, firm founder Richard Werth gave a few tips for planners who are putting together events on or around the one-year anniversary of September 11. Among them:
  • Make security and emergency planning an integral part of the early event management planning process and the actual event.
  • Stay alert to local and international news events, which can change very quickly and may affect your event, meeting or travel.
  • Consider low-profile venues or alternative meeting solutions.
  • Reduce your organization?s name and the event's public exposure as appropriate to the nature of the event. Use low-profile signage, name badges and merchandise items without the company?s name.
