Industry Groups Crowd Holiday Bash

A group of event, meeting and hospitality pros put on their networking best for a holiday party that mixed members of the New York chapters of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, International Special Events Society, Meeting Professionals International and Professional Convention Management Association. The party had a decidedly dressed-up look—the vast majority of attendees showed up in suits—that some guests explained by noting the large number of hotel salespeople in the group. While Santa Claus was ensconced on a sofa in the corner, everyone crowded in the grand mezzanine space at Guastavino's, which served an abundant spread of pasta and antipasti, and a hearty selection of desserts, including some enormous chocolate-and-berry concoctions.
