After 18 months of considering two top bidders, a state park board has chosen Giuseppe Cipriani—over Chelsea Piers—to transform Pier 57 into an Italian-theme museum and retail complex, The New York Times reports. The $154 million proposal includes something called the Leonardo at Pier 57, a branch of the Leonardo da Vinci museum in Milan, and what would be the city’s largest banquet hall.
