INSPIRATION: Check Out the Sights

E5322tower 152
Now in its third year, Open House New York (917.583.2398) is an expanding—and free—weekend-long tour of some of the city’s architectural sights in all their glory. It’s a great way to check out cool, unusual venue possibilities, learn about architecture and city lore, or get inspired by a great garden, an impressive salon, or an awe-inspiring industrial space. More than 100 venues all over town, public and private, will open to the public October 8 and 9. A sampling of sites includes the High Line, the Grand Lodge of Masons, the tower at Jefferson Market Library (pictured), and Green-Wood Cemetery. —Mark Mavrigian
