Anastasia Striegel
One Kick LLC
What She Plans: Mostly large-scale fashion shows, including Armani Privé’s two couture presentations in Paris this year, and In Style’s big runway show at the Time Warner Center this fall. She also produced a Barneys New York party for Rochas in October. And all those high-profile assignments came in the first year she owned her own company, which she launched in October 2004.
Career Path: Striegel developed her skills and her client relationships while working for four years at each of New York’s two big fashion show production houses—KCD, then Bureau Betak—before striking out on her own last year. “Just being in the business as long as I have, I’ve formed relationships over time,” she says. “There’s just so much trust that goes on—clients trust that things will be right—that comes over time.” Before entering the event industry in 1997, she worked for eight years at graphic design firms in New York and Chicago after earning a degree in painting from Illinois State University.
Staff: Two people, plus part-timers as needed. “I just hire the freelance army as needed, like everyone.”
