The business section of The New York Times took a look at benefit auctions this past Sunday. There's probably not much there for seasoned auction throwers, but the story does have a mix of insights for planners (people seated at dinner tables bid more aggressively than people sitting in rows, for instance) and for attendees (look for sales of lots, where interest may wane).
